Location

Apartment Arenales View is located in the town of Torre de la Horadada in southeastern Spain on the Costa Blanca South coast, almost on the border between the Spanish regions of Valencia (Costa Blanca) and Murcia (Costa Cálida).

Torre de la Horadada

Torre de la Horadada is a charming coastal town with about 2,600 inhabitants, located in the southern part of the Costa Blanca and belonging to the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada, with around 22,000 residents. Its most iconic landmark is the 16th-century watchtower, originally built to defend the coast from pirate attacks and now listed as a Cultural Heritage Site. The tower was part of a defensive network built under King Philip II, and in the 19th century, it served as an optical telegraph tower. Since 1905, it has been owned by the Count of Roche family, who turned it into a summer residence. Although it is private property, it can be admired from the beach and nearby streets.

Today, Torre de la Horadada is a peaceful and family-friendly resort, particularly popular among Spanish visitors who enjoy relaxed holidays on the Costa Blanca. Its main square is the heart of social life, offering restaurants, cafés, and terraces where guests can savor Mediterranean cuisine. From the square, a seaside promenade stretches along the coast to the marina, perfect for a stroll or a dinner by the sea.

The town’s architecture is defined by its low-rise buildings, limited to two floors, which preserve its bright and open Mediterranean character. The surrounding parks and green areas add to the tranquil atmosphere. Along its coastline lie nine sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters, from Mil Palmeras to Playa de las Higuericas.

Two modern shopping and leisure centersPlaza Nueva and Plaza del Pueblo Latino, offer a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and shops, bringing life to the town throughout the year. With its welcoming atmosphere and ideal location, Torre de la Horadada is the perfect destination for a seaside holiday or a stay in a holiday apartment in an authentically Mediterranean setting.

Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca “White Coast” is part of Alicante province in the Valencian Community. It stretches from Denia in the north to Pilar de la Horadada in the south. The area offers a unique Mediterranean atmosphere, crystal-clear sea, pleasant climate, beautiful nature, and over 200 km of beaches with fine sand.

The Costa Blanca region only experiences spring and summer, with very little rainfall and up to 300 sunny days a year. Temperature fluctuations are mild, with an average annual temperature of 19°C. The highest temperatures occur in August (up to 35°C). Costa Blanca is an ideal year-round destination with swimming opportunities in the Mediterranean from April to October. The average sea temperature in summer months is around 25°C. You can enjoy sunny Christmases here.

The Costa Blanca coast is also sought after for its exceptional microclimate. Thanks to its extensive salt lakes, the air has a high iodine content, which is healing and one of the healthiest in Europe. The salt lakes and salt pans are located around the city of Torrevieja.

Costa Blanca is one of the main golf centers and is also suitable for tennis players, cyclists, hikers, and water sports enthusiasts.

Costa Cálida

Costa Cálida “Warm Coast” is located in the Murcia region. Costa Cálida boasts 250 km of sandy beaches, salt pans, mountainous inland areas, and a series of medieval monuments. The city of Cartagena is unique for its excavations, and historical monuments can also be found in Murcia.

We definitely recommend visiting Calblanque National Park, which offers a stunning natural spectacle. Here you will find untouched nature, rocky cliffs steeply dropping into the sea, and beautiful beaches with fine sand.

The Regional Park Salina de San Pedro surprises with its unique vegetation, protected birdlife (flamingos, herons), sand dunes, and beaches with crystal-clear water.

Another attraction is the Sierra Espuña mountain range. The terrain here is not too demanding, but you will enjoy magnificent views of the surroundings.

Sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to do. There are several golf courses, some of which host important international tournaments. Divers should visit the port of Cabo de Palos, where they will find a unique underwater reserve in Europe.

The largest and most visited resort on the Costa Cálida is La Manga del Mar Menor. It is a 22-kilometer-long sandy strip (about 200 m wide) that separates the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor. The Mar Menor lagoon (“Little Sea”) is a large saltwater lake with an area of 170 square kilometers, distinguished by its high salinity and water density. It is only 7 meters deep and is known for its healing effects. It is a lagoon with characteristics similar to the Dead Sea, hence often called the “Spanish Dead Sea”. The Mar Menor lagoon contains therapeutic mud. The fine mud from the very salty lake helps treat many skin diseases, relieves muscles, and detoxifies the whole body.

The area around the Mar Menor lagoon has so many sunny days that local farmers can harvest their crops up to five times a year. The sea here has very warm water all year round, 4 degrees higher than elsewhere in the Mediterranean, and swimming is possible almost always from April to November.
